The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed structural design and analysis for residential buildings, including single-family homes, multi-family units, and custom residences.

• Apply extensive knowledge of wood, steel, concrete, and masonry to create efficient and cost-effective designs. Ensure material selection aligns with project specifications and local building codes.

• Ensure all designs meet or exceed local, state, and national building codes and standards.

• Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration of structural elements with other building systems. Provide technical support during the construction phase, including site visits and inspections as needed.

• Prepare detailed structural calculations, construction documents, and technical reports.

• Guide junior engineers and interns by reviewing their work, providing technical guidance, and fostering their professional development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Required).

• 6+ years of experience in residential structural design.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; additional certifications or advanced degrees are a plus!

• Excellent problem solving, organization, verbal and written communication skills. 

• Strong structural design software skills AutoCad, STAAD, Revit, RISA, RAM, and/or Tekla Structures). 

• Deep understanding of seismic design, wind load analysis, and foundation design for residential structures.

• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met without compromising quality.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
